West Cumberland Agricultural Co-Operative Society Limited was established at Queen St, Whitehaven when a small group of farmers grouped together to improve the quality of their seed, manure, feed and fertiliser purchases and gain the benefits of buying in bulk.
By 1959 the Society had 20 fuel tankers and 206 commercial vehicles, the name changed to WCF Ltd in 1986 to reflect the broad geographical coverage of the Society, whilst at the same time maintaining a clear link with its roots.
Today, WCF Ltd operates in several sectors, including specialist distribution, and is proud to be partly owned by its employees.
