AdBlue® is made of a colourless mixture of high-purity urea (32.5%) and deionised water (67.5%), as set out in the ISO 22242 standard. Urea contains ammonia; the active ingredient in AdBlue® that reacts with harmful nitrous oxide and neutralises it before it enters the atmosphere via the diesel engine exhaust fumes. It is stored safely within a separate tank on the vehicle so your diesel will never come into contact with the solution. The average use of AdBlue® is about 3-5% of the amount of diesel or gas oil used.
Please Note: AdBlue® needs to be stored out of direct sunlight and protected against temperature extremes (-5 to 30 degrees Celsius).
